Northern Virginia, about twenty minutes outside of DC. And I know what you mean about feeling lost in the sea of West-Coasters ...

hmmm...not really into RI. I'm looking more for some place in the mountains away from large cities. Looking for a place where when it snows, the snow stays for a while. Wish I had the opportunity to travel all over. Most of my travel has been just up and down the East Coast.

speakin of wind off Lake Erie, Madison OH, it's a lil stain on the northcoast, between Cleveland OH and Erie PA. Make my living plowing the white in the winter and fixin the roads when it isn't snowin.

I'm in Yardley, PA; 2 miles from the NJ/PA border and close to Philly.
It's too damn cold here for me right now, so I'm just gonna stay inside and keep my keyboard warm.

Lawrence MA - I have to admit I never knew about this site until my Bay Area friends got me interested. I lived in Oakland for four years and loved it but had to come back home cuz I really love snow and seasons and real weather.

I found this tribe this morning...
I'm in Aiken, SC. Yuck. But this IS my favorite time of year here for weather- slight chill, just enough for a comfy sweatshirt in the morning, then warming up to 70 in the afternoon.
I've also lived in Atlanta and miss it very much!!

          snuggleybunneeee A,

I've actually been here for a while, but somehow amazingly missed out on this tribe. What a maroon!

Like you I've traveled a lot New York, Mass, SF, NM, but RI's sort of like the mob -- just when you thing you're out they drag you back in...

RI born and RI bred. BA and two Master's from URI.

Per the post a bit back -- how could you not be into RI? We don't have a big city -- far from it. Yes it's got a lot of one way streets, but much easier to navigate than Boston. We've got miles of ocean, historic houses, good colleges and universities in a very short geographical areas, great restaurants, neighborhoods, scenic drives, good people. In terms of location -- 1 hour (or less from Boston), 3 from NYC, as for mountains 6-7 hours to the White Mountains, 4-5 to the Berkshires (please correct my errors). On the left coast things are a lot further away. In NM I'd drive 2 hours to see my friends.

Mind you we get a little crazy here about not wanting to drive more than 15 minutes away, but not a bad place. Plus good diversity of accents, WICKED sense of humor!

As for the weather today --14°F (although local news says its 17 -- whee-hee
          Mostly Cloudy Feels Like 1°F
          UV Index: 0 Low
          Dew Point: 3°F
          Humidity: 55%
          Visibility: 10.0 miles
          Pressure: 29.70 inches and rising
Wind: From the North Northwest at 10 gusting to 22 m

          And it snowed last night...

In terms of other tribes I've noticed quite a few sub area tribes -- Providence, Rhode Island, Thayer Street, etc. You might want to check for your respective areas...

          Have a blasterrific day!
          Robin
